Saddlelite Riders Saddle Club General Meeting February 6 2006

The meeting of the SRSC was held on Monday, February 6th, 2006 at the UMore Park Office Building, Rosemount, MN.  The meeting was called to order by President Stephanie Rendell 7:15 p.m.

Secretary’s report:   Joan Elbert     There was no secretary’s report to approve.

Treasurer’s report: Lynda Dent:  There was no treasurer’s report, financial records will be transferred to the new treasurer for March meeting.

GCSCA: New officers for GCSCA are: President-Trina Oster, VP-Jen Valek, Secretary- Donna Steffenhagen, Treasurer-Carol Schrader, Hi Point recorder- Jen Valek, BOD-Leslie Giorgi and Dori Kooyman.  Entry cards must  be purchased by each club and on card stock.  Next meeting 1/16/06 at Country Kitchen Cannon Falls, MN at 7:30 p.m.

Show bills and advertising for the GSCA Books are due March 4.  175 copies, 3-hole punched.  Cassie will do the royalty page.  Advertising is $20.00 per page.  Book assembly will be 10:30 AM, March 4, at the UMore Office Building.

WSCA:   General Meeting is Sunday, March 5, 2006 at 1:00 PM.  Joan Elbert and Cassie Law will represent SRSC at the meeting.  Items up for discussion at the meeting:
Petitions for rule book changes and changes to the champ show.
Lynda Dent will submit the SRSC news to the WSCA Spotlight.

Show Committee:
Joan Elbert reported that show schedule is complete for 2006.
•    Saturday, June 10, 2006 - All Game Show WSCA/GCSCA, WSCA Judge Doug Jensen
•    Sunday, June 11, 2006 - All Pleasure Show WSCA/GCSCA, WSCA Judge Allen Reike
•    Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006 - Over-The-Hill Show WSCA Judge Jon Lewandowski
All shows will be held at Rainbow Arena - Northfield, MN and Rainbow will do the food both
Joan will get shows added to the WSCA on-deck.

Banquet Committee  Thank you to Cassie and Trina for a great banquet January 21, 2006!
Recommendation made for next year to add awards for club members who do not ride in shows.

Parades:
Cottage Grove Parade    June 17
Pan-O-Prog Parade        (is same day as GCSCA horse show)

Newsletter  Not all members received newsletter.  Joan will contact Shane to make sure newsletters get out.

Website  Changes have been made to the Website.  Some members have had trouble accessing the site.  Joan will contact Shane about this.

Membership Discussion was held on a membership drive.  A SRSC booklet will be made to hand out at tack swaps and to post at feed stores and stables.  Cassie and Joan will put the booklet together.  Cassie will send meeting information to local papers.   Currently we have 58 paid members.

Old Business
Discussion was held on SRSC logo clothing.   We hope to have an order form for the March meeting for club members to order.  Trina and Leslie will update prices.  Stephanie is to get logo to Trina.

Clinics:  Stephanie is working on setting up a date for a Spring Shots Clinic and a Despooking Clinic.

New Business
Cassie Law will be organizing the annual St. Jude’s Trail Ride.   The ride will be at Lebanon Hills Regional Park and is scheduled for Monday May 29, 2006.  Details to follow

Joan Elbert will be organizing the annual pony rides at the Bridge View School FunFest.  This will be Friday evening, May 19, at 5:00 PM.  Details to follow.

The next scheduled general meeting will be Monday, March 6th, at 7:00 PM at the UMore Office Building, Rosemount, MN.

There being no further business, a motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting.  The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM.
